How it works
Click the Pixel Freedom toolbar icon on any regular web page to open the sidebar. Drop a photo file into it, or drag an image straight off the page you're viewing. From there you can crop, resize, convert the format, and strip metadata, then download a clean file. Everything runs locally in your browser, so nothing you open is uploaded.
Common questions
- The icon does nothing on some pages. The sidebar can't open on browser-internal pages such as
chrome://, the new-tab page, or the Chrome Web Store, because extensions can't run there. Try it on a normal website. - An image I dragged won't load. Some sites serve their images from other domains without permission to read them directly. When that happens, right-click the image, choose "Save image as", and drop the saved file into the sidebar instead.
- The sidebar won't open on one specific site. A few sites use a strict security policy that blocks embedded frames, which prevents the sidebar from loading on that page. Other sites are unaffected.
- Where do my photos go? Nowhere. They stay in your browser's memory for the editing session and are discarded when you close the sidebar. See theprivacy policy for details.
